Leading family run tyre re-treader G&S Tyre Services Ltd in Barking, which recently became a Marangoni Ringtread Network member, has now joined the NTDA as its first independent commercial tyre re-treading specialist member.
In addition to the outstanding retreading factory, the site at Barking has a dedicated undercover service area for truck tyres and a separate retail outlet for on-site service for cars and vans with a comfortable and well-maintained waiting area. G&S also operates an extensive fleet of 16 mobile tyre fitting vans and 2 artic trucks and all tyre technicians are NTDA REACT licence holders.
During a joint visit to the G&S factory on 10th July with Phil Robinson Marangoni’s Senior Country Manager for UK, Ireland and Middle East, NTDA CEO Stefan Hay said: “We are delighted to have a company of G&S’ calibre join us as our first independent commercial tyre re-treader.
The NTDA fully supports and is promoting UK retreading. It is imperative, that we commit to the reuse of such valuable resources and encourage fleet operators, and their tyre suppliers to recognise the benefit of professionally manufactured UK re-treads. This form of recycling supports UK employment, the environment and the Green agenda and is a shining example of the circular economy at its best”.
