NTDA supports Northern Ireland Air Ambulance

On Thursday 22nd February 2024, the NTDA Northern Ireland Chairman Roy Nutt of WH Nutt & Son / WHN Tyres presented a cheque for £3,400 to Air Ambulance Northern Ireland (AANI).

The AANI is a registered charity which has been operating a helicopter emergency medical service (HEMS) dedicated to responding to serious trauma and medical emergencies in Northern Ireland since 2017.

The £3,400 was the surplus from, and additional charity raffle money raised at, the NTDA’s Northern Ireland Dinner and Tyre Industry Awards Ceremony held at the La Mon Hotel & Country Club in Newtownards in November 2023, which was attended by 120 guests from across the UK and Irish tyre trade.

The presentation took place at the Limavady High School, which has also nominated the AANI as its chosen charity and is partnering the NTDA locally. The cheque was received by pupils Indie and Sophie and Principal Mr Mornin.

Speaking about the cheque presentation, Roy Nutt said: “We in the tyre trade spend every day of our professional lives making sure that motorists vehicles are safe, especially the tyres, which keep them on the road and there can be no doubt that regular tyre safety checks by a qualified tyre technician help this. It is good to know, however, that when things do go wrong, the AANI can respond, rapidly, to an emergency. We hope that this money, generously given by NTDA members, will contribute to keeping the AANI in the air for many years to come!”

The next NTDA Northern Ireland Dinner and Tyre Industry Awards Ceremony will be held on Saturday 23rd November 2024 at the Roe Park Resort in Limavady.
