Close to 100 NTDA members and their guests attended the NTDA Northern Ireland Dinner Dance and Awards evening held at the Roe Park Resort in Limavady on Saturday 23rd November and enjoyed a fantastic evening of good food, very lively entertainment, singing, dancing and great fun hosted by the NTDA’s Regional Chairman Roy Nutt of WH Nutt & Son / WHN Tyres.
NTDA members from across Northern Ireland, England and Scotland and ITIA members from the Republic of Ireland attended what has become the NTDA’s second largest tyre trade social networking event.
The charity raffle, generously supported with prizes from a number of NTDA supplier members and personally with prizes donated by Roy Nutt, raised £1,300 on the night.
This year’s NI Tyre Industry Award winners were as follows:
- Tyre Manufacturer of the Year Award: Hankook Tyre UK Ltd – Trophy collected by Corrie Beggs of Tyrecall Ltd
- Tyre Wholesaler of the Year Award: Stapleton’s (Tyre Services) Ltd – Trophy collected by Aidan Neeson
- Non-Tyre Supplier of the Year Award: DM Supplies (NI) Ltd – Trophy collected by Stevie Nixon
- WH Nutt Memorial Trophy for REACT Commercial Tyre Techncian of the Year: Ian Fisher of Kerr’s Tyres Ltd
Additionally, Noel McGrath of Continental Tyre Group Ltd was presented with the Des Fullam Memorial Award for his long service to the tyre trade and outstanding support of the NTDA in Northern Ireland.
Des Fullam of Kings Road Tyres Ltd, who passed away in 2007, was also a loyal and staunch supporter of the NTDA and a very popular member in Northern Ireland, so every year the NI Chairman presents this award to an individual who is deemed to have achieved the same level of dedication to the NTDA and wider tyre trade as Des and this year that was Noel.
Kieran Logan of Northwest Tyres collected a special recognition certificate on behalf of Leslie Payne who is now 74 years old and who has worked as a Tyre Technician in Northern Ireland for 58 years!
Commenting on the success of the event, NTDA CEO Stefan Hay said: “The NTDA Northern Ireland Dinner Dance and Awards evening is one of my favourite nights in the NTDA’s event calendar! With members and theri guests now attending from across the UK and ITIA guests coming up from the South, it has become a great event for networking and just having fun in a relaxed, sociable and friendly environment and to top it all, we raised another £1,300 for good causes in Northern Ireland, so I do hope that more members and tyre trade guests will join us for the craic next year!”
